Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, if you tried to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually may even collapse. If you tried to build your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body as well, and chiropractic care addresses many common reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body's foundation, then that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved.

Patient

With chiropractic care, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully.  If you are in pain when you come into our office, our first objective will be to help reduce your pain and get you started feeling better as soon as possible. Following that, the muscles and other tissues will need to be allowed a chance to heal more completely, which helps prevent further injury or pain.  Dr. Shapiro makes it his business to get through this process as quickly as possible, bringing you to the relief and stability you need.

Get ready to take on the attitude of feeling well, of feeling your best again.  Your body has an amazing ability for healing and wellness, and we are here to give it the support it needs!

Thumbs Up to Relief and Correction!

Most people are under the assumption that if they don't feel any pain that there is nothing wrong with them - that they are healthy. Unfortunately, pain is a very poor indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced.  The disease process of cancer, for example, begins and progresses for years without pain.  Likewise, high blood pressure, a very serious disease process, most often has few, if any, obvious symptoms.  Therefore, the absence of pain or other symptoms should not be considered as the only indicator of your health.

As you begin healing, your pain will subside.  This can be the "danger zone."  Why?  Remember, your tissues are not fully healed just yet.  Use this time of reprieve to continue supporting your body.  Let the slip in health you experienced remind you to take care of your body and cooperate with its healing.  Actively seek out Dr. Shapiro's recommendations, so that being informed, you can  make the best decisions for yourself.  Be energized to be restful! to feed yourself properly! to make the lifestyle changes you know your body needs in order to be restored and function well.  Don't take a shortcut on such an important matter.  We're here to support you the best we can all the way through.

Maintenance is Key to Healthy Living

Once your body has fully healed, routine chiropractic care can help ensure that your physical problems do not return, and keep your body in optimal condition. Just like continuing an exercise program and eating well in order to sustain the benefits of exercise and proper diet, it is necessary to continue chiropractic care to ensure the health of your musculoskeletal system.

When you make routine chiropractic care a part of your lifestyle, you avoid many of the aches and pains that so many people suffer through, your joints will last longer and you will be able to engage in more of the activities you love.
